Rider Number 18 Date of Birth 02/09/1994

Andrew Irwin is an upcoming talent in Superbike racing and aged just 25, has experience across many championships from Worlds to British. Starting his two-wheel journey in 2002 on a motocross bike, he was crowned Irish Motocross 50 Champion and by 2011 had moved to Supertwins where finished runner-up and won the championship in 2012.

In 2014 Andrew had progressed to the British Superstock 600 Championship finishing the year 10th and wrapped up the 2015 season fourth in the series. 2016 and 2017 saw the Irishman in the British Supersport Championship, where he finished runner-up in 2017.

Andrew started the 2018 season in the World Supersport Championship, where he scored a best result of 10th at Donington Park, but part way through the season he joined the British Superbike Championship as his brother Glenn’s teammate, replacing an injured Shane Byrne for the remainder of the season. His highest place finish was at the final round at Brands Hatch, where he was fighting for the podium and eventually finished fourth.

Catching the eye of many team bosses in the paddock, after an impressive half season on a Superbike, Honda Racing snapped Andrew up for the 2019 season where he played a vital role in developing the Fireblade SP2 and went to take his debut BSB win at Thruxton. Finishing his first-full BSB season in eighth place he narrowly missed out on a Showdown spot.

Andrew will embark on his second year with the Honda team in 2020, aboard the all-new Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, where he hopes to secure a place in the all-important Showdown, and be in with a chance of becoming a 2020 BSB title fighter.
