Honda Racing BSB Diaries – Episode 6 | Snetterton
Check out the latest episode of Honda Racing BSB Diaries from Round 6 at Snetterton.
With the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship reaching its halfway point, Snetterton proved successful for the Honda squad and its riders Xavi Forés, Andrew Irwin and Tom Neave. The Superbike duo made the team squirm in Race 1 as they were involved in a head-to-head battle for fifth place swapping paint on the Fireblades, but it was Andrew who pipped his teammate to the chequered flag to take fifth, with Xavi sixth.
The second race of the day was also action packed where Andrew scored his best finish with Honda this season in fourth place, Andrew has now closed the gap to the all important Showdown top-six, where he now sits eighth – 20 points shy of the top-six. Xavi remains well in contention for the Showdown, maintaining his sixth place position with 114 points.
Tom Neave again made progress in the National Superstock 1000 Championship, dropping back to 13th in the race he dug deep aboard the Fireblade and fought back to cross the line impressively in eighth position. Tom’s results from the weekend see him hold onto the sixth place spot in the overall championship standings.
The team are now prepping for the next round of the championship, which takes place this weekend at Thruxton (2/3/4 August).
