Dan Linfoot back in the saddle for triple-header weekend at Silverstone
This weekend (7-9 September) Honda Racing welcomes back Dan Linfoot as he makes his return to the CBR1000RR Fireblade, while teammate Jason O’Halloran will be looking to secure a place in the top six, ahead of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Showdown, as the series continues from Silverstone.
Reunited with the Honda squad for the first time since fracturing his left scaphoid at Brands Hatch in July, Linfoot has missed the last two outings at Thruxton and Cadwell Park. Having had the injury operated on after the accident and with seven weeks recovering, the Yorkshireman is feeling confident ahead of his return to the CBR.
Meanwhile teammate O’Halloran has vowed not to give up on securing a place in the all-important Showdown, despite a mid-season injury hampering his challenge. Mathematically still in with a chance, ‘The O’Show’ has a 32-point deficit and is currently tenth in the overall championship standings.
The ninth round will see three races held at Silverstone but, in a plot twist, the circuit layout has changed from the usual GP track to the 1.64-mile National Circuit, after concerns raised following MotoGP. The first of three 30-lap races will be held on Saturday 8 September, with the following two races on Sunday 9 September.
Track action for the ninth round gets underway on Friday (7 September) with first practice taking place at 1010-1105. Live timing across the weekend will be available from: britishsuperbike.com/live-timing
